These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Wirral Trades, a platform designed to connect customers with independent tradespeople across the Wirral.

1. About Wirral Trades

Wirral Trades is an online platform that helps customers find local tradespeople and helps registered tradespeople discover potential local work.

Wirral Trades does not normally carry out building, maintenance, repair or other trade work itself. Tradespeople using the platform are independent businesses or individuals responsible for the services they provide.

2. Using Wirral Trades

By using Wirral Trades, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions and any applicable laws and regulations.

You must provide information that is accurate and reasonably up to date when creating an account or using the platform.

3. Trade registration

Tradespeople may register with Wirral Trades to access relevant local job opportunities.

Tradespeople are responsible for ensuring that information provided about their business, qualifications, experience, insurance and services is accurate.

Wirral Trades may request additional information or verification where reasonably necessary.

4. Customer job posts

Customers may submit information about work they require through the platform.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the information they provide is accurate and does not contain unlawful, misleading, abusive or inappropriate material.

Wirral Trades may remove or decline a job post where it considers that the post breaches these Terms, is fraudulent, misleading, inappropriate or otherwise unsuitable for the platform.

5. How the job matching process works

Registered tradespeople may be shown relevant job information based on the type of work and area covered.

A tradesperson may express an interest in a job. Expressing interest does not automatically give the tradesperson access to the customer's contact details.

The customer may review the tradespeople who have expressed an interest and choose which tradespeople they would like to receive a quotation from.

Customer contact information will normally only be released to a selected tradesperson once the applicable introduction process and payment requirements have been completed.

6. The £5 introduction fee

Where applicable, a registered tradesperson may be charged a £5 introduction fee when a customer selects that tradesperson to provide a quotation.

The fee relates to the introduction between the customer and tradesperson. It is not payment for the trade work itself and does not guarantee that the tradesperson will obtain the work.

The exact payment, refund and cancellation arrangements will be displayed to the tradesperson before a charge is made.

7. Quotations and work

Any quotation, estimate, agreement or contract for work is between the customer and the tradesperson.

Wirral Trades does not determine the price of work and does not guarantee that a customer will accept a quotation.

Tradespeople are responsible for completing work safely, professionally and in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

8. Trade qualifications and insurance

Tradespeople are responsible for obtaining and maintaining any qualifications, licences, registrations and insurance required for the work they undertake.

Wirral Trades may ask tradespeople to provide evidence of relevant insurance or qualifications where appropriate.

9. Customer responsibilities

Customers are responsible for providing tradespeople with accurate information about the work required and for making their own decisions about which tradesperson they choose.

Customers should satisfy themselves that a tradesperson is suitable for the work before entering into an agreement.

10. Reviews and feedback

Where reviews or ratings are provided, they must reflect a genuine experience and must not contain unlawful, threatening, discriminatory or abusive material.

Wirral Trades may remove reviews that it reasonably believes breach these requirements.

11. Prohibited use

You must not use Wirral Trades to:

• Provide false or misleading information.
• Commit fraud or facilitate unlawful activity.
• Harass, threaten or abuse another user.
• Attempt to obtain another person's personal information without permission.
• Interfere with the operation or security of the website.
• Use the platform for spam or unauthorised marketing.
• Create accounts for deceptive or fraudulent purposes.

12. Account suspension or removal

Wirral Trades may suspend, restrict or terminate an account where there are reasonable grounds to believe that the user has breached these Terms, provided false information, misused the platform or acted unlawfully.

13. Our role and liability

Wirral Trades provides a platform for introductions between customers and independent tradespeople.

We do not guarantee the quality, availability, suitability, qualifications, insurance, pricing or conduct of any tradesperson unless we expressly state otherwise.

Customers and tradespeople are responsible for carrying out their own checks and making their own decisions before entering into an agreement.

14. Website availability

We aim to keep Wirral Trades available and functioning properly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may temporarily suspend or modify the platform for maintenance, security, development or other operational reasons.

15. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

16. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the Wirral Trades name, branding, website content and platform materials belong to Wirral Trades or are used with appropriate permission.

You must not copy, reproduce or commercially exploit our website content or branding without permission.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time as the platform develops or legal requirements change.

The latest version will be made available on this website.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that may apply.
